Rockaway grant program delivers more than $340,000 to community organizations

Community organizations in the Rockaway area in New York received grants from Williams’ Rockaway Lateral pipeline project community grant program.

The program, established in spring 2014, donated a total of more than $343,000 since its inception, with $120,000 donated in spring 2015 and $115,000 in the fall of 2014.

Here’s a list of past grant recipients.

The Rockaway grant program is designed to benefit the environment and local communities within the New York City areas near our pipeline project. Its mission is to assist in the development of projects that directly benefit the surrounding communities in which the Rockaway Lateral is being constructed and operated.

Grants up to $15,000 per funding cycle are awarded based on community need. These grants can be used to provide environmental benefit or economic development, or to support emergency services, youth and senior programs, or education programs.

Community organizations can complete and submit he application online.

The next round of grant applications are due by August 1, 2015.
