Rockaway Little League Vice President John Duggan proudly received Williams’ grant to support this organization located in Fort Tilden in Breezy Point, Queens. This organization has about 750 children in their spring little league + summer baseball program during summer for travel teams. Williams’ grant will help them upgrade the fencing at the complex that was compromised during Hurricane Sandy as well as to perform some field maintenance to grass areas and the clay areas of infields of the five baseball fields.
Bobby Keane, commissioner, received Williams’ grant for the Rockaway Rockies. These funds will help replace damaged equipment and facilities, as well as they will provide financial assistance for players unable to afford the yearly registration fee.
Our community outreach team has been out delivering grants in the Rockaway area these past few weeks. Mike Bedient, community outreach partner for Williams’ Rockaway Lateral project, has delivered grants to several organizations in the area, showing Williams support for recovery efforts following Hurricane Sandy. This past week, our grant program reached some great sporting organizations.
