Williams gathers public feedback on pipeline project

NESE Open HouseAbout 75 people attended two public open houses this week in Pennsylvania and New Jersey to learn more about Williams’ recently announced Northeast Supply Enhancement Project. The open houses provide interested parties with an opportunity to meet project personnel, review maps, learn more about the regulatory process, ask questions and share feedback.

The proposed Northeast Supply Enhancement Project would include expanding the existing Transco transmission pipeline by adding about 35 miles of new pipe segments along the existing transmission right of way in portions of Pennsylvania, New Jersey and offshore New York.

Williams requested in May 2015 that the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) initiate an environmental review of the Northeast Supply Enhancement project before the company files its certificate application (Docket No. PF16-5). This formal process, which is known as FERC pre-filing, is designed to solicit early input from citizens, governmental entities and other interested parties to identify and address issues associated with potential facility locations during the design stage of a proposed project.
Williams expects to file a formal application with FERC for the Northeast Supply Enhancement project in the spring of 2017.
